HENI is delighted to release “Obey Invader,” four limited-edition silkscreen prints by Obey Giant and Space Invader. The prints are based on new works currently on view at the ‘Triple Trouble’ exhibition at Newport Street Gallery in London.

The works are available by application until October 23rd via this link. Each print is from an edition of 250 (+ 50 APs).

The prints are based on new works currently on view at the Triple Trouble exhibition at Newport Street Gallery, which runs from October 10 until March 29, 2026. The different prints will be released throughout the five-month run of the exhibition, which showcases a collection of new collaborative works by the artists. The first of the print releases is a collaboration between Shepard Fairey and Invader. Titled Obey Invader, the series of four limited-edition prints are available by application from October 16 to midday BST on October 23.

The Obey Invader editions are silkscreen prints with embossing on cotton rag paper and are presented in a white aluminium frame. The works measure 53.3 x 72.3 cm (framed). Each print is from an edition of 250 (+ 50 APs) and is priced at $1,000 (plus applicable taxes). All works are numbered and hand-signed on the front by the artists.

In this new collaboration, Fairey and Invader merge their characteristic motifs into four exciting artworks. In each, Fairey’s Obey Star sits at the centre of mandala-like designs, which are repeated in the form of tiles. These tiles are rendered in alternative colours of blue, red and cream, the resulting patterns both shedding light on Fairey’s designs and revealing one of Invader’s pixelated Space Invader figures.

The Obey Invader works offer a new take on some of Fairey and Invader’s most recognisable imagery by presenting them in a new context. Fairey’s Obey Star develops his well-known motif of the Obey Icon face and is a symbol that encourages viewers to find their own interpretations of the world around them. Invader’s pixelated creations reference the icons of early video games, through which the artist questions the invasion of the digital world into our daily lives.

It has been a long time since Obey Giant and Lodown Magazine collided and left their mark on popular culture. Almost thirty years ago, the paths of Shepard Fairey and Thomas “Marok” Marecki crossed in San Diego, USA. Lodown Magazine was still in its infancy, and Fairey’s artistic evolution was only beginning. Both shared the same urge: to stir things up, to inject activism into culture, and to build something of their own.

From Cold War West Berlin to 90s Southern California, their paths were shaped by signals of freedom broadcast across borders and the restless urge to disrupt.

Today, those signals are fractured. The Pax Americana has crumbled, elites have failed, and trust has decayed.

reset is no longer optional. It must come from below — through art, through voices unafraid, through new networks of resistance and connection.

Decay is the reminder. Reset is the challenge. The time is now.

PRINT DETAILS: Lodown/Obey – Decay Reset. 18 x 24 inches. Screen print on 80# cream Speckletone paper. In collaboration with Lodown Magazine and Obey Clothing. Signed by Shepard Fairey. Numbered edition of 450. Comes with a Digital Certificate of Authenticity provided by Verisart. $75. Available on Friday, October 17th @ 10 AM PDT at Obey Giant Store. Max order: 1 per customer/household. International customers are responsible for import fees due upon delivery (Except UK orders under $160).⁣ ALL SALES FINAL.

ATTENTION: Triple Trouble, my collaborative show with Damien Hirst and Space Invader is not exclusively an indoor gallery experience, we also painted a mural including imagery from all three of us in Shoreditch, London. This, I was told, is the only mural including Damien Hirst’s work in London and definitely the only mural including all three of us anywhere in the world, so I think it’s pretty special. The Triple Trouble show opens in a couple of hours at Newport Street Gallery, and I couldn’t be prouder about how all the work turned out or how great of an experience it was to work with these guys, the incredible Newport Street Gallery and Heni team, and the beautiful space itself. Thanks all the way around!

Newport Street Gallery, in association with HENI, presents Triple Trouble, an exhibition uniting three disruptive artists: Shepard Fairey, Damien Hirst, and Invader. This unprecedented show, curated by Connor Hirst, opens this week on October 10th and will feature a dynamic mix of individual works alongside bold new collaborations, many of which will be revealed to the public for the very first time. Get more information about the exhibition here.

Here’s a look at more of the collaborative artworks featured in Triple Trouble. Check it out!

Why would I want to collaborate on an exhibition with Invader and Damien Hirst? I’ve long respected both artists because they are intelligent, conceptual, and relentless in their singular creative visions. “Obsessive” might be too mild a description to convey their drive, focus, and prodigious output. I can relate to them. I also admire risk-takers and troublemakers who can withstand condescending, impolite jabs from supposedly polite society. Those qualities inspired me to collaborate with them even though our aesthetics have no natural overlap or compatibility. A clash of styles in collaboration is a risk worth taking, and creativity can solve almost all problems. Malcolm McLaren once told me, “A glorious failure is better than a boring success.” So, with that as a guiding principle, what could possibly go wrong?

I was honored to create this tribute print of Clem Burke, the powerhouse drummer of Blondie, based on a couple of photos by Bobby Grossman. Blondie is part of my musical DNA. Clem, Chris, Debbie, the core members of Blondie —are all heroes of mine, but we’re talking about Clem right now. My first almost encounter with Clem was in Los Angeles when our studio was in the Wiltern Theater building. I used to park at the top of the parking garage, and one day, I pulled up in what I thought was my space, only to find a sign that said “Reserved for Clem Burke.” I thought maybe I should just hang out there until he arrives, but then I thought that might be a little bit uncool. So instead of waiting and stalking him, I just put an Andre the Giant Has a Posse sticker on the sign, hoping that that would be a little message of recognition and solidarity. Later, I got to become friends with Clem, Debbie, and Chris, which felt like a miracle. Everybody in Blondie has been incredibly cool, but Clem was living in LA, so we would see each other fairly frequently. He invited me to some music shows, he would come to art shows, and we’d see each other at a lot of events around town. He was always so cool and friendly to the point that he even voluntarily played drums with a pretty amazing group of musicians: Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols, Billy Idol, and Lee Gorman from Bow Wow Wow as part of an art show at our gallery. They did Sex Pistols, Iggy, and Velvet Underground covers in our parking lot, and Clem didn’t ask for a cent. He just did it because he thought it would be a fun thing to do. Everything I experienced from him was always very kind and generous, so I’m very sad that he is no longer around to enrich people’s lives in that way. However, I thank him for being part of mine.

I’ve always believed that one of the most essential parts of my practice is accessibility, so I’m excited to officially announce that 25 artworks of mine are now available on the Samsung Art Store. Visual communication and the spread of ideas is empowering in a lot of different ways. The Samsung Art Store gives me the opportunity to share my artwork with a new audience outside of traditional galleries or city walls. If you have one of the Samsung Art TVs, be sure to check it out! – Shepard

Some pieces include “Dark Wave,” drawing attention to the perils of oil spills, “The Woman Who Defeated Pain (Frida Kahlo),” and newer works centered on themes of peace, justice, and environmental responsibility. The collection allows viewers to bring art with purpose into their homes.

I’m a big fan of the Circle Jerks and in fact, the Circle Jerks were one of the first hardcore bands I saw when they came to my home of Charleston, S.C. in 1986. I was more than happy to create this poster commemorating Keith Morris’s 70th birthday concert in LA with bands Ceremony, Rocket From The Crypt, and Negative Approach. I’m really happy with how this turned out, and I hope Keith loves it too! Happy Birthday Keith, and thanks for the many years of inspiration! – Shepard

With this new mural, “Uplift Justice,” I wanted to create something that connects the ideals of the past with the questions we face today. Nearly 250 years after the founding of this country, we have an opportunity to ask ourselves what the next 250 years should look like—a continuation of where we’re headed, or maybe a reset.

I chose a woman as the central figure because I see women as natural peacemakers, builders of family and community—the qualities we need most right now. The patterns around her draw from the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s textile archives, paying homage to the city’s history while also reflecting a universal language of design found across cultures.

My hope is that this mural invites people to reflect on justice, history, and the values that guide us today. Philadelphia has such a strong mural culture, and I’m honored to add to its tradition of putting art into public space.

Thank you to Love Park in Philly, Jane Golden and Brian Campbell from Philly Mural Arts for facilitating this project, and to my crew of Dan Flores, Rob Zagula, and Jon Furlong for their help painting the mural.

35 years ago, while attending the Rhode Island School of Design, I wrote a paper I initially called “A Social and Psychological Explanation of Andre the Giant Has a Posse” for a great class examining human factors and environmental controls in architecture. I was an illustration major, so I looked for relevant material in my medium, so it made sense for me to write about my sticker project. I later shortened that paper to a one-pager I could mail out with some stickers and renamed it my “manifesto”. While researching for that paper, I read about Heidegger’s theory of Phenomenology, which thoroughly resonated with me. My Andre sticker campaign, which was only a year and a few months old at the time, was provoking a wide range of responses and questions, and I was fascinated that a little bit of mischievous disruption could seemingly snap people out of a trance born of boredom or routine. Basically, Phenomenology was the seed that has bloomed my entire career. Printing and disseminating stickers was the beginning, but my ambition for finding every platform for Phenomenology possible has kept me experimenting and evolving. This print is a reminder of the philosophical origins of my art project. Thank you to any of you who have been part of the journey!

Lost & Found is a series of releases pulling from the archives of Obey Giant Art.

I’m excited to announce the release of a small number of matching numbered sets that were originally released in 2008: Obey Billboard (Eye) and Obey Billboard (Consume). These images are a commentary on the intrusive and manipulative nature of advertising. If you feel intruded upon and manipulated, then please don’t buy these. Then again, manipulation is often an unseen hand, so even if you don’t feel manipulated, you might be anyway, so better to avert your eyes and avoid the seduction of conspicuous consumption. However, an intelligent and discerning person like yourself can ignore me and make up your own mind. If you like irony, these might be the ideal prints for you to purchase, but if you like sincerity, you may also appreciate their very sincere irony. Once again, a sophisticate like you can deliberate with style and grace without my help.

-Shepard

Farm Aid poster: 40 years of fighting for family farms, featuring a rural landscape and Farm Aid concert collage.

To celebrate Farm Aid’s 40 years of fighting for family farms, I created this art to remind people that Farm Aid provides a voice for people who don’t have the kind of resources that corporate agriculture does. Farm Aid was founded in 1985 by Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp as a concert to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on the land. It continues to operate the music festival to keep that mission alive with the next Farm Aid concert taking place on September 20th in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

With this piece, “Farms Not Factories,” I wanted to tell the story of independent farmers working on their land, as opposed to the big corporate farms that have a huge amount of land and workers. I incorporated historical images of various rallies from Farm Aid organizers over the years, as well as some newspaper clippings from the archives within the ripped collage layers of the illustration. Independent farming is a solitary endeavor, which I showcase with the lone farmhouse situated on the vast landscape, but with Farm Aid, farmers can work together for their interests rather than be overrun by big corporations. Please take a moment to read more about Farm Aid and support this effort by purchasing this print!

#FreeKilmar poster: Support justice & due process for an innocent man.

I was disgusted to see the style of my Obama HOPE poster used to attack Kilmar Agrego Garcia. The case against Kilmar is corrupt. Kilmar has been convicted of no crime, and his alleged ties to the gang MS-13 were based on him wearing a Chicago Bulls jersey and hat. Trump has lied about Kilmar to stoke fear and division for his own political benefit. All of us who cherish the Constitution owe it to Kilmar to participate in his defense. Whatever lies the Administration persists in telling about Kilmar, these things remain true:

The Trump Administration is abusing its vast power to punish an innocent man.

They grabbed Kilmar Abrego Garcia by mistake — and tried to destroy him on purpose. Their aim all along has been the naked display of authoritarian power.

They kidnapped him and sent him — in violation of a judge’s order — to the infamous prison CECOT in El Salvador.

They lied about him and cooked up a criminal case against him, a bogus prosecution that they now seem ready to abandon.

If Trump cared about removing criminals from the U.S., he would DEPORT HIMSELF!

Trump has been charged with 88 criminal offenses and convicted of

falsifying business records.

He has been:

Charged with election subversion

Charged with mishandling classified documents.

Found legally liable for sexual assault and tax fraud.

Trump lies and ignores the Constitution daily. He’s a corrupt authoritarian who bullies the vulnerable and abuses his power like any dictator who craves power over the good of the nation. If anyone doesn’t deserve to live in the U.S., it’s Donald Trump, not Kilmar Agrego Garcia.

Woman holding a silkscreen print of a woman with a sunflower containing the globe.

I’ve been an admirer at a distance of Jane Fonda’s acting and activism for the majority of my life. I had the honor of being included in a Zoom discussion with Jane at the beginning of the pandemic, and we very naturally connected on many of our shared concerns, especially climate change and other environmental issues. I’ve since collaborated with Jane, brainstorming and creating art for Greenpeace and her environmental PAC. Following Jane inspires me and also humbles me because the extent of her commitment to the causes she believes in is deeper and more rigorous than anyone else I can think of. This portrait of her, which demonstrates grit, determination, and advocacy for the planet, is something I know to be a hundred percent authentic. Yet, it still represents only a fraction of what she embodies. Jane is a leader we’d all benefit from emulating.

The Lotus Ornament is inspired by the symbolism and beauty of the Lotus flower. The lotus is something beautiful that grows out of the mud. I see the Lotus as a metaphor for what is always needed… resilience and optimism in pursuit of harmony with each other and the planet. – Shepard

The “Endless Power Petrol Palace” poster is both an embrace and a critique of the seductive graphic propaganda used for the petroleum industry. I designed this print to feel like a vintage ad celebrating the abundance of America and the bright future of the American Dream. Though oil is finite, our reliance on it is so extreme that the power wielded by those who control oil is virtually unlimited. Though oil may have seemed initially to be endless, we now know the world’s oil reserves will run out eventually but more importantly, we know from thorough scientific research that the planet does not have the endless power to maintain a stable climate if oil and gas Carbon emissions (as well as from other sources) do not decrease dramatically.

Unfortunately, the U.S. government gives approximately $70 billion in tax breaks and subsidies to the highly profitable oil and gas industries. The need to fund new, renewable technologies should be obvious when the rapidly depleting oil and gas sources become more difficult and dangerous to extract each passing day. The only reason the government subsidies are so disproportionate is because of the massive power the dying oil and gas industry still has.

Here is the challenge: our lifestyle cannot survive without oil and gas, but our planet cannot survive with their use remaining anywhere close to current levels. Unless we cultivate renewables, we are heading for a tipping point that will be potentially irreversible and unquestionably devastating.

Check out that peroxided spiky hairdo… no, it’s not one of the millions of copycats spawned by the White Wedding video, it is the real BILLY IDOL, whose music I’ve loved since I was 13. I did the album package for Billy’s greatest hits album “Idolize Yourself,” which came out in 2008, and a screen printed poster to go along with it. The album contains all the classics plus some new songs. I went with a new wave meets propaganda aesthetic for the package and print. We just realized we have a few of these prints in the archive, so if you missed it in 2008, here’s your chance to get one now! The prints are signed by me and Billy!

Mural of a bird on a brick building; parking signs visible.

I just finished up an amazing week in Aspen, CO where I did my “One Earth” art show with 212 Gallery in two cool locations. I also did a talk at Anderson Ranch Art Center, DJ’ed, and painted my second mural in Aspen with the help of Dan Flores, Rob Zagula, and Jon Furlong, who also shot these photos! The mural features an Oriole perched on a flower stem with oil dripping off it. Orioles are not endangered, but their population, like many bird populations, is in decline… further evidence that our whole planet is the coal mine and all birds are the canaries. A reminder to keep our one earth healthy for the birds and all else. The people of Aspen were incredibly supportive and enthusiastic, which had me feeling like I was possibly in The Truman Show. This feeling was compounded when I was honored with July 25 being dedicated as “Shepard Fairey Day” by the city. I’m very grateful to the 212 Gallery crew and the Aspen community for the incredible support!
